I found this basket full of cards last year at my favorite store, Goodwill. I really liked the basket. That's what originally caught my eye.
Can you guess why? See those stripes of orange and maroon. Those are my favorite colors. The basket isn't that well-made. I just liked the colors and size. I thought I could use the basket for tailgating.
Then I noticed the holiday cards inside the basket. I didn't think I needed them until I saw the prices. Each set of 8 or 10 cards - brand new in the original packaging - was priced at 50 cents. Now that's a bargain to begin with. There must have been 20 sets of cards in the basket. That's a value of $10 at Goodwill, much more if you shopped anywhere else.
When I turned over the basket, the cost for all of it was $3.50! Now that was an even better bargain. Would you like to see what was in there?
That is 4 packages of Halloween cards. I think I used 2 packages last year.
These are Thanksgiving cards. I'm sorry the second picture is blurry.
As you can see, there were lots of Valentine cards. Again, I know I've used at least one package.
The Easter cards are my favorites.
Finding all of these cards at such a great price has allowed me to send holiday greetings to lots of friends. In this day of technology, you'd be surprised how much a simple greeting card means to someone. My title really had two meanings for me ~ it came from Goodwill and I send goodwill to friends.
We are home from our wonderful vacation, so you can expect pictures soon. I have to unpack and do laundry first - blogging will be my reward for finishing those chores.
Now I just have to find a way to save on postage!
