No, that's not the name of a new band - but it does kind of sound like one. It's actually the name of my latest fashion dilemma. Depending on your age, this next picture could be meaningless or it could incite dread. For me, it's dread.
This tote is filled withpantyhose, tights, torture for the legs, camouflage, stuff to struggle into and cover my legs. Have
you noticed that young women today don't wear anything on their legs? Although I did hear a rumor after the royal wedding that Kate Middleton was bringing back hose - can it be true?

I have a few skirts/dresses that I mostly wear to church. Here are my choices for covering my legs as the weather turns cooler.
There are 2 nude, 2 cream, and 4 black pantyhose, 1 pair of maroon tights, 2 pair of brown tights, and 1 pair of black tights in that pile.
But look what else I have. Here are fourteen pairs of new pantyhose.
I have 5 pair of tights that have never been opened. Did you notice the cream pair? I pitched donated them to Goodwill after I read a fashion article that said those were definitely out of style. (I'm glad I found out before I wore them this fall/winter.)
This is a pair of knee socks - are they still called that? - that I bought when we went to Paris 4 years ago. Notice that I have never worn them. I think I only bought them for the Eiffel Towers! I wonder if I can incorporate them into my "European-theme" craft room?
What will you wear on your legs when the weather turns cooler?

First of all, thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog.
Oh goodness, I just went through this dilemma with my dirndl outfit. I was told white hose. Terror struck my heart. First of all, I am long legged and overweight so try and find hose that first doesn't cut me in half and secondly the crotch comes above my knees! I was SO GRATEFUL when another mentioned traditional knee highs of which I found on eBay. WHEW!! In the past I just wore garter belts and thigh highs and if I ever have to wear hose again on a reg. basis I will go back to it. Around here knee highs are acceptable for everyone as we have a large Mennonite population and that is what they wear in winter. That and tights. Pantyhose to me are sheer torture. My heart raced when I saw that photo!
I used to wear pantyhose/tights when I was younger - up until I was probably 14 or 15. And then there was this realization that, yes, my legs are pasty white and also that pantyhose are just so darn uncomfortable. Why should I keep torturing myself? And most especially now that I'm a mother. When I'm at church, I'm already busy chasing my 3-year-ld around and being the secretary for our Primary. I also already have enough wardrobe mishaps that I don't need to mess with or worry about tights falling down or riding up or getting runs. I don't care how popular Kate may make them - I will not be joining that trend again! And believe me, it's not because I don't need the warmth. I live in Northern Utah where we get plenty of cold and snow.
I saw that picture and shuddered. You're a braver woman than me!
Good post today Grammy! Yes, I never go barelegged now - mainly because I don't like my knees any more. Hee Hee! Fortunately, black or dark heavy tights seem to be pretty fashionable over here now, so my problem is solved!
Oh my gosh, I hate them. They cut into my belly. My friend told me to buy "thigh high" stockings, and I still need to do that. I enjoy wearing skirts and dresses, and I go bare legged in the summer and for casual wear, but that is not always allowed.
I love your Paris socks!
Thanks so much for stopping by to say hi. I appreciate you comment on that post, because I wasn't sure if many would like it.
Take care,
Kathy M.
I wear tights all winter but gave up on hose because I rip them every single time I try to wear them. I actually think hose make your legs look really pretty and I'll bet that they do come back in style.
You wanna talk about Laughing Out Loud - you've got me laughing now! I gave up pantyhose some years back when I was able to bend and twist in contortions necessary to apply said pantyhose. Now I wear Cuddle Duds in black with - oh my gosh you're going to shoot me! - knee socks over them - I'm not making this up. Are we are Geraldo or anything?!?! Cut this part!!!!!

Hi Grammy! Wait I love tights! Love love love them! And also the over the calf tall socks, they protect, heat, and look super cute! So you are fully styling! Happy autumn preparations! xox!
Goodness me you are well stocked! Fortunately I only have to resort to tights in the winter and only then if wearing a dress.
