My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter, Cate, loves to read. She has lots of books at her house, plus she checks out books from the library. She also has lots of books that belonged to her mommy and uncle at my house. These are slowly migrating to her house as well.
However, Cory (her mommy) asked me last week if I had any old adult paperback books for Cate. Apparently Cate sees her parents reading and wants to read their books. But they were afraid that she might tear the pages or something. They buy new books and they know I get ours at Goodwill. So, I gathered up some of ours and took them to her last week.
I'm so proud of myself that I actually have all the books facing the same direction. I had to look for the ones that didn't have any
This is the first book that Cate chose. She looked through it, then she ran to the bathroom. I laughed and laughed when I saw where she had put her book.
(In her defense, she sometimes has to sit on the commode for awhile before things happen.)
So - where do you keep your books?

It's little wonder that my Dad always refered to the bathroom as the 'library'.
Sometimes you just need a quiet place to read.
Have a happy day!
Can't beat that...my boys go in the bathroom with lego magazines!
Love the story about little Cate wanting to read grown up books, AND where she put the book as she rushed off to the loo!! That's such a lovely age, isn't it?!
How nice that little Cate likes to read. Grammy must be a good influence by having books around. Hope you and Cate have a wonderful week!------Shannon
Cate is too funny! and obviously smart! That is the one place I DON'T read! LOL...
I am Cate and have been reading there since I was about Cate's age. I started with my grandparents' dictionary - the front part had pretty pages of flags from different countries.
HILARIOUS!!!!!
