So long, farewell.

So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehn, good night. Have I gotten you singing along with the song from Sound of Music?
http://www.sunnycorner.com/movies/featured/som/music/solongsom.php

Well, my time has indeed come. I have enjoyed blogging so much, but it's time for me to stop. I wanted to see if I could do it and I did. But now, my folks will be home from Florida soon, and I will be spending more time with them. Plus, I have two grandchildren to share fun times with.

I want you to know that you are wonderful people. I never would have thought that I would be "blogging friends" with young people like Liesl and Megan and Alex or international bloggers like Lindy Lou and Diane and Mongs.

Here are some of the things I've learned from you:
  1. You are so creative. You can paint, sew, and use power tools.
  2. You are generous and share tutorials so others can make the projects you have created.
  3. You care about each other and support each other.
  4. Anything can be spray painted ~ furniture, couches, even shoes.
  5. Stripes are very popular on walls. Or maybe that's been replaced by chevron.
  6. Repurpose is a word and many of you are doing it! You're also weathering stuff.
  7. Pillows are seasonal accessories. They can be made using napkins, place mats, and old clothes.
  8. Mantels should be decorated. If you don't have a mantel, a shelf or hutch will do.
  9. Banners are necessary for every holiday.
  10. Plates aren't just for food. They look great on a wall.
  11. Makeovers don't involve mascara and lipstick anymore.
  12. Pottery Barn and IKEA are like crack to bloggers. "Like crack to bloggers" is a popular thing to write in blogs and it means something is popular.

Goals you've given me:
  1. Take a photography class. Or at least read the manual that came with my camera. I know it's here somewhere.
  2. Learn to sew. (This has been a goal for about 45 years. It's not looking so good.)

My confessions:
  1. I'm still not sure what Expedit is but I do know how to use a cloche.
  2. I never mastered Linky following.

Thank you for all the giveaways I've been lucky enough to win.
Thank you for following me and commenting on my posts.

I will still be stalking reading blogs. (I love this feature that marks out the real words we want to use.)

Adieu, adieu, to you, and you, and you.

~Grammy Goodwill~

I can understand wanting to stop blogging. After 3 years of doing it, believe me , I have had my moments! But, what is wonderful is you can drop back by this blog whenever you just get the urge to write something or share something. I hope to still "see" you dropping by, Your comments are always soooo appreciated!

So nice to get to know you! Enjoy your break from blogging and if you decide to come back ( as so many do) that is fun too! That is what I love about blogging - it is up to you to decide just what you want it to be.

Grammy...I am so behind that I just now read this. I will truly miss you. I know what you mean about needing to move on. I have considered stopping many times. I wonder if I could do it or if I would be pulled back in. Your priorities are definitely straight. Good luck with your parents and your grandchildren. Sounds like life is good for you. Enjoy!
