She made me a grandmother. Her mother wanted me to be "Grams". I wanted to be "Grandma". We compromised with "Grammy". Then Cate learned to talk. Grammy became "Mimi", but Mimi Goodwill doesn't have the same alliterative ring, does it?
Want to know what she calls her grandpa? He was supposed to be "Grampy" to go along with "Grammy". Cate shortened that to ~ wait for it ~ "P". Just one P, thankfully. He loves it because she made it up.
What names do you have for your grandparents? Or for yourself if you've been blessed with grandchildren?

She's adorable Grammy! I have two wonderful grandsons, and the youngest (he's two) calls me Grandma, Mama or sometimes Mom. But he calls his Grandpa "Papa". I think he could call me just about anything and I wouldn't care!
Congratulations on getting your blog started!
What a cutie. I am Grammy. I choose it because I wasn't patient enough to wait. My HUbby is Grampy. Sometimes the kids just call us both the same thing. It is kinda funny and we really don't care. Love being a grandparent.
Too cute! I love the way she chose the names too!
