This is my very favorite Hokie cheerleader. I've known this young man since he was born. His mom and I taught together. While she was pregnant, I gave her small gifts each month. They had one thing in common. They were all orange! Is it any wonder that he ended up going to VA Tech?
Well, both his parents also graduated from VA Tech. They
might have influenced his decision as well.
I also love the Hokie Bird. When I was at Tech, the Hokie Bird was actually called the Fighting Gobbler and it was very menacing.
Somewhere along the way, that gobbler was tamed and became the beloved Hokie Bird.
Look at that face. Isn't it the cutest thing? (No, I'm not talking about me. I'm talking about the turkey, silly.)
Today TECH plays Clemson, our first ACC foe. It will be a big game for both teams. Kickoff is set for 6 pm - and it will be cooooooooold.
Go HOKIES!

Go Hokies! I'll look for your favorite cheerleader on tv.
Once, while we were at a Va. Tech game, I was walking up the steps in the bleachers and the gobbler was coming down. He stopped and gave me the biggest hug. My husband happened to have a camera and somewhere around here we have a photo of it. He watched the game last evening down in his man cave. I could here him fussing the whole night. Va. Tech lost...boo!
