What's a crafter to do?

Do you have one of these in your refrigerator? Since I fix a lot of deviled eggs for our football tailgates, I buy a lot of eggs.

I knew this had a lot of possibilities. I could mod podge scrapbook paper on the outide and the top. Maybe I could spray paint it.

Look at those wonderful compartments. Oh, the possibilities of what could go in there.....

Nope, I'm not being sucked into that trap. Into the trash it goes. By the way, any ideas for those age spots?

I'm with you, the only reason I save egg cartons is to put them in the recycling bin. Although I know several parents that save them for school art projects...

We just get the cardboard egg carts around here... so they are always re-used. Currently, we are chicken-less (is that a word? :))
so, we pass our cartons along to the chicken keepers.
I do save a few to make my own fire starters for the fireplace.
Love the previous post. You crack me up :)

I completely relate with you and my mother would even more...she loves to save things and find usage for everything...I often hear "don't throw that away!" LOL! However, the older I get, I used to save everything, I am trying to be more realistic about the saves, as you are! As for age spots...they do have some creams that are supposed to lighten them, but if you find something you'll have to share it with all of us!

Funny! I usually throw them away too. You actually gave me an idea though. I might start saving them, just for mixing paints in the studio. My palettes get so messy. Would be nice just to toss out after using them once. No clean up! Thanks for the idea. lol

hehe...you're so cute. But you're not alone, I know there's something you can do with the carton but I'm usually too lazy to think. One thing you can do, send it for recycling:-) Age spots? Age spots are signs of a sun kissed skin, which is ok with me

LOL, I can sooo relate too this! But, you did good! The cardboard egg cartons get reused as homemade campfire starters here.

When I started reading this post, I thought the crafting bug had finally bitten you but I guess not. I don't know of craft ideas for egg cartons, either. I've seen some pretty strange things made from them but I wouldn't say they were crafty. I think the other ideas mentioned here are useful. At least a can of spray paint would not be involved. Heehee

You just made me spray tea all over my computer screen!!! I love it! sometimes we just can't save everything, and do we really want to?
Great post!

You are just awesome, Grammy! Love your many-faceted blog! ♥

Personally, I think styrofoam egg cartons should be banned. That squeaky sound they make when you try to put a too-large egg into it -- EEK! I have saved a couple of those cartons that are Jumbo sized for my chickie girls' mondo eggs...but I still don't like 'em!

Only cute egg carton project I found was at Krafty Kat

And I tried to make it - total bust. So...I'm with you here - pitch it!

I have been browsing your blog and have to say I'm loving it. I agree with you on the egg cartons...I thought I was the only one. I have racked my brain with how to use such an ingenious little package but like you have decided what I don't need is more "stuff" er trash laying around for free time I will never find. I am you newest follower. Patty
