Frosty Drinks

Has this ever happened to you? Does it remind you of a science experiment gone bad?
That top has come completely off the can. I couldn't have done it that well if I had tried.

Can you see the frozen soda in the can?

I bet you know what happened.

Yep, there was an explosion in the hotel refrigerator. Look at that mess.

And a close-up of the door, too.

As if that wasn't bad enough, I did the same thing in my parent's room refrigerator.
I had to clean up two messes.

Has that ever happened to you?

I've heard about it happening but I've never done it! Oh man, what a mess!

Oh no! What a mess! I have never had this particular mess happen but believe me, I've had my share of messes.

Something similar....
My hunsband had made rootbeer and he puts in glass bottles. I woke up one morning and fortunately saw the weird round thing on the floor before I could step on it. Turned out to be the bottom of a bottle. I looked around searching for an answer. Must have been later that the whole bottle exploded and I had pop all over everything including the walls!!!! Husband couldn't clean it as he was leaving for a hunting trip. Good times.

Sorry, I didn't laugh until you said you did the same thing in your parents room. I have done this alot......just forget that I put it in the freezer. What a mess. Hope the hotel gave you some towels to help clean it up.

Oh, no, good thing you didn't drink it ... or was the fridge temp turned up too high? Gross and sticky. Yuck.

Just once...and believe me it taught me not to put drinks in the freezer and forget them. Oh..wait..not a freezer..ok...but still it HAS happened to me.
Can you tell I'm still not over it? :)

Oh my goodness! What a mess! We've noticed the hotel fridges are usually turned up way too high and our drinks always freeze. We make sure to turn them down now before we put anything in:) Live and learn right!!!

Yes I have had cans freeze but the top never blew off. I have seen them expand to the point that it looked like that could happen. Something similar happened in the car, only in very hot weather. I had left an unopened can in the rear of the SUV, it got hot and exploded shooting Coke all the way to the front and on the ceiling. I understand from that experience how messy a cleanup like that can be. --------

Pat, nope thankfully this has never happened to me, but you certainly had double your share of this coincidence. Hopefully, once is enough...make that 2X.
