Summer "Deck"orating

I am really enjoying the outside this summer. We've lived in this house for five years and it's taken me this long to appreciate our back deck. Basically we have no grass in our backyard. It's all deck. There is one long built-in bench that I would love to make cushions for. But that would mean learning to sew.

Instead we're using this patio furniture. We've had it for awhile. I forgot about the cushions until this summer. They were in the attic. Oh, and isn't that the cutest little table? It came from Joanne's Fabrics for 60% off. I bought two. You'll see the other one in another post.

I wanted to find a tablecloth to use on the glass topped table. While searching for placemats that I still haven't found I found this tablecloth that matches the cushions. How did I do that? And how did I forget about this stuff?
I also put my house plants outside for the summer. These huge plants are angel wing begonias that my Mom gave me when they moved into the retirement villa. These were started by my grandmother. They're taking over my house. Anyway, I like the way they look outside. From this view you can also see our stone retaining wall. Isn't it beautiful? Ignore the ac units you can also see.

The wooden planter was a wedding gift twenty years ago from good friends. He is a well driller. Look closely at the planter. Do you see the pump handle?

I am joining Kim at http://www.savvysouthernstyle for her Deck and Porch Party.

Grammy Goodwill, thank you for stopping by my blog! I love your deck! I am so intrigued by the idea of no grass - just all deck! I hope I'm able to do this to my yard in the future. The green table is adorable! I'll be on my way to Joann's Fabrics -- I might get lucky and find one!

Yay, I can comment now. Nice deck. No grass would be nice. I have way too much of it and as I get older I would like less. Thanks for joining the party.

Hi Pat! Your deck looks great. Less grass in my neck of the woods means less skeeters! A good thing! LOL
