A Touch of Pink

To get to Myrtle Beach, SC from Roanoke, VA we had to drive through a lot of small towns. I started seeing pink trashcans, but they were in people's yards. Well, yeah, of course they were.

Finally we came to one on the edge of a street where hubby could stop so I could jump out of the car and snap a quick picture.

Do these homeowners - and all the others - read Pinkalicious? Are they fans of the color pink like many of you?

I bet you already knew why the trashcans were painted pink. See that ribbon. It's the ubiquitous symbol for breast cancer awareness.

While at the beach, I read an article in Woman's Day. One of its points:
Just 30 minutes of exercise five days a week can cut your breast cancer risk by nearly 20%.

Now I have another reason I should be exercising. How about you?

Wow that is cool. The other day I saw a huge truck that was paving a road with a magnetic breast cancer sign on it. I thought that was just the neates thing.
All those manly construction workers promoting the ta tas.

These peeps have really done a great job with pink and breast cancer awareness ... over the years it has spread and now we know what it is about. I didn't know that about exercise. I really do need to start doing that, even walking would be a great idea.

Happy Sunday,

Kathy

Very cool! My aunt was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I've always been a supporter and worn pink ribbons during Oct but it has taken on a whole new meaning now.

Yes, me too...I am starting a boot camp again very soon. You live in Roanoke? We went up there last Fall and had a fabulous time. I have a post on my blog somewhere about it.

Why don't I own a pink trash can?!

What a great fundraising idea. If you want a pink trash can, you pay a little extra fee for it and the money goes to the cause. Neat!

I love this pink bin. Does house work and walking to and fro in the house count as exercising ? Five days a week sounds daunting.

That's one place I wouldn't mind something big and pink! Love it!

You're very right - a pink ribbon on a fountain doesn't compare to a pink trashcan! What a statement they make, thanks for sharing!
