I must be French.

I must be French.

I must be French because I love FRENCH fries. Not a good enough reason for you?

How about because I still remember lots of high school FRENCH? That is, as long as it's written or you talk reaaaaaaaaaallllll slow. (Wait, that might be a Southern trait.)

But seriously, the real reason I must be French is because lately I've been having this feeling of malaise. That's the only way I know how to express how I feel. I looked up the definition, and this is what Wikipedia says:

Malaise (/məˈlz/MAL-aze) is a feeling of general discomfort or uneasiness, of being "out of sorts", often the first indication of an infection or other disease. Malaise is often defined in medical literature as a "general feeling of being unwell". The word has existed in the French language since at least the 12th century.

Did you notice that it's a FRENCH word? If I am thinking and feeling in FRENCH, then I must be
FRENCH.
Did I convince you?

Well if you are indeed French, and you are having malaise, you may need some very good French music and some French bread would not hurt either...distraction, my cure. I hope you will feel better, really.

Hope that feeling passes soon!

I think a nice strawberry crepe and cuppa tea would help beaucoup!

Nope. But you convinced me to tell you to go for a check up at the doctors!!! Or, just give yourself a little extra rest!! Between the heat this summer and all the stuff you have going on with your family, who wouldn't be tired!!! So...GO REST!

Patricia...can you get away for an afternoon on your own? I think you need a break. Please take care of yourself because where would everybody else be without you?

Well, I hope by now you are not feeling as malaise as before. The relentless heat wave will do that, tho. It sure has me feeling blah!

Tu; française? Je pense que non..

But you made a good try of it. Though I must confess I found the logic a bit er, um, . . . questionable.

Malaise is not just a French affliction en été (in the summer time). We have that here in Canada too, in both official languages (English and French). Especially when the heat is this brutal.
