Cate's yard sale goodies

Cate is my 3 1/2 year old granddaughter. I keep her twice a month, so I'm always looking for books and puzzles for her. Last week, I hit the yard sale jackpot.

Cate loves books. Right now she enjoys "reading" the Little Miss and Little Mr. books that belonged to her Mommy and Uncle Jason. When I saw these books, I couldn't turn them down. Franklin is one of her favorite characters to watch on television, so I had to have those.
Can you see the D.W. book? It's about Arthur's little sister who loses her blanket. Cate is a big blanket lover, something her Mommy doesn't understand. (Uncle Jason still had his blanket in middle school ~ shhh, don't tell. But Cory never got attached to anything like that.)
I bought the last one because I like the author.

If you've been reading my blog, then you'll know that Cate will become a big sister in February. She also likes Dora and she loves to watch tv, so this was a must buy.

I know that putting puzzles together is a skill, so I'm always
encouraging Cate to do these.
There are also 2 coloring books in that stack that I think were 10 cents each.

These 4 puzzles came from Goodwill and were only $0.50 each. I think I hit the jackpot with these, too.

(The box has stationery and is for me. I also kept the skinny tablet.)

Do you like this set-up better? I read a comment on http://vintagerevivals.blogspot.com/2011/08/top-10-blogging-no-nos.html
this post that said centering the print made it more difficult to read.

And I accidentally hit publish before I could say, I think you hit the jackpot with your loot. Your granddaughter is one lucky little girl. I'm sure she adores you!

You really hit the jackpot with the yard sale goodies. I'm sure Cate will get many hours of enjoyment from the books and puzzles.

I like this better than the centered setu with smaller print. Much easier for these old eyes to read.

Have a great weekend.

A No Reply Blogger? I'm not sure what that means. But now I'm curious... how do I fix it?

What fun scores! I loved those Franklin books when my boys were small, and who does not love Dora, she is adorable. Have a great weekend.

As far as centering (which I happen to use), I think that if the paragraphs are short, centering helps a person read a post faster. It is quicker to read down than side-to-side. I want my posts to be easy to read. Just my opinion :) Yours looks great either way! XOL
