Let's go, HOKIES!

Virginia Tech plays Appalachian State today.
I love football. I've had season tickets forever. My husband loves to tell people that the first time he asked me out, I told him no because I was going to a football game. Hey, it was against WVU ~ always a good rivalry game. But now that we've been married 20 years, he's as big a fan as I am.

#19 - Danny Coale

#4 - David Wilson
Take a few minutes to watch this video. He's an amazing young man.

#3 - Logan Thomas - quarterback

Our maroon car with orange racing stripes will be flying two of these flags - another Goodwill find - as we head off for Lane Stadium.
I'm responsible for the tailgate food. A good friend always brings country ham biscuits, a staple for our tailgates, no matter what time the game starts. I fix deviled eggs, buy chicken, cut up veggies and cheese, and the list goes on.
What do you serve at your tailgates?

I don't have any digital pics of past tailgates, so you'll have to wait for those.
(I know you'll be waiting with anticipation, right?)

My favorite Tech cheerleader - I've known Josh since the day he was born.
Notice my hat - it makes every Hokie outfit stylish, don't you think?

I absolutely love the Hokie bird.

See ya after the game.
Go, HOKIES!

Great photos for us to look at today. I've noticed that lots of my American friends are really into football, and have their favourite teams! Go Hokies! Let's hope they have a good season.

I understand from my husband that Tech had a big win yesterday. That's always a bonus when you are attending the game. :)

Your tailgate parties sound like fun. I'm a firm believer that country ham biscuits are tasty any time of the day or night. Yum!

Looking forward to pics of your spread.

I love the beginning of college football season! The smell of barbecue in the air outside in the tailgating area, the crowd all decked out in team colors... Will you delete my comment if I admit I'm an Illini fan ? :)

What fun! Tailgating is always such a great time, even better when you do it with a big group of friends. Thanks for sharing.
